  • Grant from Mass Humanities:

Mass Humanities Logo I am very pleased that Mass Humanities has announced a grant to University Press of New England to support my upcoming Colonial Meetinghouses book. While additional funding is yet needed in order to make the book a reality, this is an important first step.

In their letter of commitment, Mass Humanities said: "The committee was unanimously enthusiastic about the quality of this proposal. To complement the almost translucent quality of the photographs, the writers are all first-rate humanists. This project is a wonderful example of an interdisciplinary project that is likely to attract readers from a variety of audiences."

  • Exhibition at the Currier Museum of Art:

Chandelier, Old South Meetinghouse My photograph, Chandelier, Old South Meetinghouse, has been included in this year's New Hampshire Art Association juried exhibit at the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, New Hampshire. This exhibit was juried by Trevor Smith, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Peabody Essex Museum. I was one of only 50 artists, only 10 of whom were photographers, selected from more than 250 entries, and the only one still working with traditional photographic media. The opening reception at the Currier will be Friday, January 16th from 5:30 to 8:00 PM. The show will run through February 16th, 2009.
  • Web Site Enhancements:

Window, Trinity Church, Holderness New Hampshire I have been updating the Project Locations section of the Colonial Meetinghouses web site with detailed information supplied by the various meetinghouses I have included in this project. Structures with a thumbnail photo on the Locations page have been updated, and others will be added as I receive more information. This web site is an important companion to the Meetinghouses book and exhibition, and it enables me to "give back" to the organizations that maintain these buildings by helping to raise the public's awareness of them and their importance to our nation's history.
